Envoy Method

The foundation to coaching through the Envoy Method is a three part process, Orientation, Discovery and Review. The objective is to create value, starting with clarity, befor any coaching. To then support coaching at whatever cadence might be most effective for the client.

  • It is not a program.

  • It is not a fixed pathway.

  • It is a structured approach to thinking well before deciding what comes next.

At its core, the method respects two realities:

  • You know your business best.

  • Structured reflection improves the use of that knowledge.

Orientation

Orientation is where we begin.

This is a brief conversation, and small amount of preparation, designed to:

  • Introduce how I work

  • Understand context at a high level

  • Assess conversational fit

  • Determine whether structured reflection would be useful

It is not a coaching session or diagnostic. It is simply an opportunity to establish alignment before moving further.

If there is a fit, we move to Discovery. If not, the conversation ends there — without pressure.

Orientation

Discovery

Discovery is the foundation to a shared understanding.

This stage typically includes two or three structured conversations and, where helpful, review of relevant background material.

The aim is not to cover everything. The aim is to surface what matters most.

Discovery focuses on:

  • Clarifying priorities

  • Identifying tensions and assumptions

  • Examining constraints

  • Highlighting patterns that may otherwise go unnoticed

Discovery is not advice or strategy design. It is disciplined reflection.

Discovery

Review

Following Discovery, a concise written Discovery Framework is prepared and reviewed together.

This document:

  • Reflects your business as you understand it

  • Captures key themes, tensions, and priorities

  • Identifies visible risks or blind spots

  • Creates a foundation for any future coaching or project work

The framework belongs to you. It is intended to be useful beyond the engagement itself. With or without further coaching.

Review

What comes next?

There is no prescribed program.

After Review, you decide:

  • Whether to continue

  • What scope feels appropriate

  • What cadence makes sense

  • Or whether to pause entirely

Coaching may continue on demand, at a defined rhythm, or not at all. Decisions are shaped by evolving priorities, timing, and budget — by agreement, not assumption.

If this method feels aligned with how you prefer to work, we can begin with an Orientation conversation.
